Noyce Internships are for four weeks during the summer and involve working with K-12 science and mathematics learners.
The Syracuse University Robert Noyce Scholars Program for Science and Mathematics Teachers (SU Noyce) is offering paid summer internships to promising first- and second-year students in science, mathematics and engineering. Information sessions will be held Monday, Nov. 11, 4-6 p.m. in 103 Heroy; and Wednesday, Nov. 13, 11:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m.; and 2:30– 3:30 p.m. in 109 Heroy.
The Noyce Scholars program, funded by the National Science Foundation and offered jointly through The College of Arts and Sciences and School of Education, responds to the critical need for mathematics and science teachers by encouraging talented science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) students and STEM professionals to pursue teaching careers in high-needs K-12 schools.
Internships are for four weeks during the summer and involve working with K-12 science and mathematics learners in such settings as the Milton J. Rubenstein Museum of Science and Technology, Baltimore Woods Nature Center, Lime Hollow Nature Center and the Bristol Meyers Science Horizons program. These experiences provide the opportunity to explore the rewards of a career in teaching, and may lead to continuation in the SU Noyce program, which can provide undergraduate scholarships of up to $10,000 per year.
