On Monday, Oct. 28, Syracuse University Career Services and the LGBT Resource Center will host the inaugural Out at Work panel and reception. A panel of LGBTQ executives and SU community members will discuss navigating LGBTQ identities and the job search. The panel will take place in 304 Schine Student Center from 6:30-8 p.m. A dessert reception will follow the panel.
Panelists from JP Morgan Chase, General Electric, Northwestern Mutual, Syracuse University and the Q Center will share their experiences to provide guidance, diverse perspectives and career options. Students, faculty and staff interested in gaining insight on addressing issues for those with marginalized genders and sexualities in the workplace are invited to attend.
“We are proud to hold the first Out at Work panel in collaboration with the LGBT Resource Center,” says Michael Cahill, director of Syracuse University Career Services. “It is important for everyone, including those who identify as LGBTQ, to feel comfortable in the workplace. We thank the panelists for sharing their experiences and insights.”
The event is open to all students, staff and faculty. No RSVP is required. The panel’s official hashtag is #SUOutAtWork.
