Work by Jaroslava Prihodova from the series “Critical Error”

Eight undergraduate and graduate students in the College of Visual and Performing Arts (VPA) are exhibiting work in the show “Common Language” at Leeds College of Art, one of the United Kingdom’s leading independent art schools.

The exhibition, which is on view Oct. 22-Nov. 15, was organized by Andrew Havenhand, assistant professor of painting in VPA and a Leeds College of Art alumnus.

The students showing work are from VPA’s Departments of Art and Transmedia and represent a variety of disciplines. They include Mike Fong G’15 and Holly Wilson ’15, sculpture; Rebecca Aloisio G’14 and Paul Weiner ’15, painting; Marsha Mack G’15, ceramics; Alex Sheeder ’14, transmedia; Eli Show G’15, printmaking; and Jaroslava Prihodova G’16, jewelry and metalsmithing.

The students were selected to show work in the exhibition by the faculty of their disciplines.

A reciprocal show of work at SU by students from the Leeds College of Art is planned for next year.
