Libraries Launch New, Improved Mobile Website
Syracuse University Libraries launched a redesigned mobile website on Tuesday, Oct. 8. In addition to an overall design update, the new mobile site is packed with mobile-optimized applications to aid students and researchers on the go. New features include:
- the Summon search box;
- Link to Subject Guides;
- expanded list of mobile accessible databases (under Search), such as EBSCOhost, JSTOR, Lexis/Nexis, SciFinder and more;
- listing (under Locations) of all study spaces, meeting rooms and Today’s Room Schedule;
- expanded hours to include weekly hours and exceptions;
- full events listings;
- streamlined staff directory.
Andrew Meyers, a freshman studying Information Management & Technology, was enthusiastic about the new mobile site, saying, “I love how clean it is and it’s so quick to search or find help. I think it really nails what anyone using the site on their phone will need—they want to get their information quickly and easily and the new site does that perfectly. I’m going to use it a lot.”
The libraries welcome comments and feedback on the new site through the “Give Us Your Feedback” link on the main mobile page.
