The Remembrance Scholars and the Pan Am 103 25th Anniversary Committee will host a screening of the documentary “Since” on Wednesday, Oct. 9, at 7:30 p.m. in Room 207 of the Hall of Languages.
The documentary, by journalist Phil Furey, features the families of three Pan Am 103 Syracuse University student victims and the impact that the tragedy has had upon them. A question-and-answer session with Furey will follow the screening.
Furey is a television news producer and musician based in Los Angeles. “Since” is his first documentary film, which he wrote, directed and scored. The project began in 2005 as part of a short film based on the sculpture “Dark Elegy” by Montauk artist Suse Lowenstein, whose son Alexander died in the Pan Am Flight 103 bombing.
A 2002 graduate of Boston University, Furey has worked for a number of news outlets, primarily for the international news agency Reuters.
