Stacey Tank ’02, senior vice president and chief corporate relations officer with Heineken USA, will visit the Newhouse School on Thursday, Oct. 10, as a guest of the public relations department and the SU chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America. She will speak on “The dogma of engagement and trust: Why business and society need rock star communicators more than ever” at 7 p.m. in Room 101 Newhouse 1. Follow on Twitter at #HeinekenatSU.

Tank is currently the senior vice president and chief corporate relations officer for Heineken USA. Reporting to the CEO, Tank has spent the last several years working with the management team to advance the business’s turnaround, culminating in a return to growth in 2012 after multiple consecutive years of decline.

Tank and her team are responsible for corporate communications, public affairs, brand PR and sustainability. She is currently a Westchester Business Council board member, the National Association of Beverage Importers vice chairwoman and a management committee representative of the Beer Institute.

Tank joined Heineken USA from General Electric, where she most recently led communications for “Healthymagination”—GE’s $6 billion commitment to bringing better health to more people. Additionally, she led the launch of a $1 billion global cancer campaign that included a $100 million open innovation challenge around breast cancer diagnostics.

She was previously CFO for GE Water’s North American custom equipment business and a member of Corporate Audit, leading teams at GE Healthcare in Canada and Mexico; GE Energy in Canada, Brazil and China; and NBC Universal in Europe. Her career at GE began as a member of GE’s Communications Leadership Development Program with assignments in Paris; Milwaukee; and Fairfield, Conn.

Tank was recently recognized as one of Westchester County’s “40 under 40” and 2013 female executive of the year. She is the New York City Education Ambassador for BrightPink, a nonprofit that provides support to young women who are at high risk for breast and ovarian cancers.

Tank is a summa cum laude graduate of the Newhouse School and the Martin J. Whitman School of Management.
