SU Represented at India Festival
The South Asia Department in the Maxwell School will have a booth at the New York India Festival, to be held Saturday, Sept. 28, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the Horticulture Building at the New York state Fairgrounds. The Syracuse Orange Bhangra and Zinda Fusion teams will also perform.
New York India Festival is New York’s largest Indian Festival of 2013. There will be a host of exhibitors showcasing their craftsmanship. Savor Indian food to your heart’s content. Be a part of the cultural programs featuring Indian music and dance. For art lovers, there will be special art exhibitions. Dance to the beats of Bollywood songs at Bollywood Dance Party. Attend intellectual sessions, listen to experts talking on topics related to India. Enjoy live demonstrations of Rangoli (Indian art). Attend free classes for Indian dance, music, yoga and Vedic chanting. Children can have fun at the play area and enjoy Indian story time. Get henna tattoos and Indian theme face painting.
