Video: Cold Case Justice Initiative in Atlanta
College of Law students are among a group that aims to uncover new details about civil rights-era crimes. The Cold Case Justice Initiative, which is the work of SU Law Professors Paula Johnson and Janis McDonald, has recently unearthed nearly 200 potential new cases, which means the families of some 200 people are currently seeking answers about the deaths of loved ones many years ago. “There has never been a full accounting of all the civil rights-era deaths,” according to McDonald. “This is about families first, in terms of getting them information they’ve sought for so many years.”
