“Health Care Planning: Do You Need a Trust?” will be held at noon Tuesday, March 12, in conference room 369 in Link Hall. It will provide an overview of how trusts can be used to: protect assets against the costs of long-term care, minimize taxes, reduce the risk that beneficiaries may lose inheritances, and provide a source of funds for disabled individuals without jeopardizing their government entitlements.
Participants also will discuss different types of trusts (revocable, irrevocable, inter vivos, testamentary, life insurance, and supplemental needs), and explore situations in which they may be effective.
The presenter is Timothy P. Crisafulli, co-owner of Crisafulli Gorman, P.C., a law firm specializing in trusts and estates, tax law, and business law. Crisafulli holds an executive LL.M. in taxation from the New York University School of Law; a J.D. from the Syracuse University College of Law; a master’s degree from SU’s Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs; and a B.A. from Le Moyne College.
