Since its commencement in 1983, CNY Model UN has become one of the largest high school Model United Nations conferences in New York State. Set on the SU campus, the two-day (Jan.11-12) , Harvard style conference provides high-level, engaging debate for more than 700 students from across the Northeast.
Janet Hines, an expert in HIV/AIDS treatment and prevention will be the keynote speaker. Proceeds of the conference will go to Mothers to Mothers, an organization to prevent mother to child transmission of HIV/AIDS. Events will be held in various campus buildings.
CNYMUN is run by dedicated chairs and staff who have a passion for Model UN. This conference poses a challenge to experienced delegates and serves as an appropriate introduction to Model UN for newer delegates.
