A study co-authored by A. Joseph Warburton, associate professor of law and finance at the Syracuse University College of Law and the Whitman School of Management, is cited in a Christian Science Monitor editorial on fear-mongering in politics.

The Detroit Free Press and Syracuse.com reported on Chancellor Cantor’s speech at the University of Michigan on Thursday, defending affirmative action in college admission decisions. Cantor is included among the individuals and groups named in the friend of the court brief filed with the U.S. Supreme Court in the Fisher v. University of Texas case.

The October issue of Military Advanced Education features an article on military friendly schools and campus support of student veterans that highlights SU’s work in creating a welcoming, inclusive and supportive environment for veterans and their dependents. Also, SU’s Veterans Technology Program is mentioned as a program of study that is targeted specifically toward veterans.

YNN, 13WHAM (Rochester), 9WSYR and CNY Central covered the SU announcement a new, proactive safety initiative to enhance security on and around campus.

YNN and Syracuse.com covered the campus visit by U.S. Undersecretary of State Tara Sonenshine on Thursday, with the annual Association of Public Diplomacy Scholars Symposium.

Mike Haynie, executive director and founder of the Institute for Veterans and Military Families and Barnes Professor of Entrepreneurship in the Whitman School, appeared on The Willis Report on Fox Business to discuss skill sets that veterans bring to manufacturing and the post-service translation of those skills and abilities to showcase the benefit they bring to firms working to close the skills gap within the industry.

Lisa Dolak, Angela S. Cooney Professor of Law, wrote a guest analysis for the patent law blog Patently-O on the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office’s goal to modernize its ethics rules by issuing a Notice of proposed rulemaking.
