You are invited to an informal discussion on Wednesday, Oct. 24, with Laurie Kutner, a University of Vermont librarian and SU alum (Maxwell G’85 and iSchool G’98) who directs the SU iSchool Costa Rica summer internship project. This discussion will be held from 9:30-10:30 a.m., in the Peter Graham Scholarly Commons, Bird Library.
Kutner will talk about her experiences creating small-scale digital library collections of locally based research information generated in the Monteverde Zone. Each year since 2008, she has been taking 1-2 SU iSchool students to Costa Rica for a five-week internship focusing on developing an understanding the information challenges inherent in communities in Latin America and the Global South.
All are welcome. Light refreshments will be served.
