A guest column by Owen Shapiro, professor of art, design and transmedia at the College of Visual and Performing Arts (VPA), appeared in the Sunday Post-Standard Stars magazine, along with expanded listings of Syracuse International Film Festival (SIFF) festival films. CNBC and Digital Supply Chain reported on pioneering women in the military honored during the recent San Diego offering of the Veteran Women Igniting the Spirit of Entrepreneurship (V-WISE) conference. V-WISE program manager Meghan Florkowski is quoted. Also, Consumer Media Network cites Aug. 2012 veteran unemployment statistics analyzed and released by the Institute for Veterans and Military Families in its Sept. Employment Situation of Veterans report.

Kheli R. Willetts, professor of African American Studies at The College of Arts and Sciences and executive director of Community Folk Art Center (CFAC), was interviewed on 9WSYR “Bridge Street” about the Lubin House exhibition with artwork featuring CFAC’s 40th anniversary. Willetts also talked on CFAC’s participation in “The Other New York: 2012” biennial exhibition.

Fran Paige and Susan Campbell, teachers at the SU Early Education and Child Care Center, appeared on a 9WSYR “Bridge Street” segment to discuss their new children’s book, “Where’s Liam?”. Paige and Campbell worked with children at EECCC during the creation of the book, incorporating their feedback.

The Greater Binghamton Business Journal reported on the LEED Platinum rating earned for the renovations of the Lincoln Supply Warehouse building on the Near Westside.
