The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) Students group at Syracuse University will hold its first meeting of the fall semester on Tuesday, Sept. 11, at 6:30 p.m. in 152 Link Hall. All SU and SUNY-ESF students interested in sustainability and getting involved with green initiatives are welcome to attend.
The meeting will feature an introduction to USGBC Students and outline plans for the group’s upcoming Green Apple Day of Service event to be held at a Syracuse City school. Refreshments and sustainable snacks will be served. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own reusable mugs, cups, plates, silverware, etc. in order to minimize the amount of waste generated.
Except for the September meeting, USGBC Students’ regularly scheduled meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in 152 Link Hall. The group is focused on green buildings and green communities, and committed to educating others about sustainability. Membership in USGBC Students is open to all SU and SUNY-ESF students interested in environmentally sustainable design, construction and building operations regardless of declared major or primary area of
study.
