Advocacy Center seeks volunteer advocates

The Advocacy Center at Syracuse University is seeking Syracuse University staff and faculty to join a committed, caring team of Advocacy Center Volunteer Advocates. Volunteer advocates provide crisis response services to Syracuse University and SUNY ESF students who are in need of Advocacy Center services during evenings, nights and weekends.

Staff and faculty members who are interested in becoming volunteer advocates must complete an application and return it to the Advocacy Center by September 7, 2012.

Applicants will be contacted upon receipt of completed applications to schedule an interview. Volunteer advocates must complete the initial training, conducted in partnership with Vera House, Inc., during two weekends in September 2012 and are expected to participate on the Vera House on-call schedule in order to complete their training.
