Best Colleges Online names the Raymond von Dran IDEA Student Sandbox as the No. 3 college business incubator in the country.

The film program in the College of Visual and Performing Arts was listed as one of the “10 Film Schools to Watch” in The Hollywood Reporter.

Tulsa World cites information from SU’s Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC) in an article on the closing of 14 Oklahoma immigration cases using prosecutorial discretion.

U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Deputy Administrator Marie Johns penned a blog for the Huffington Post on Operation Boots to Business: From Service to Startup, a program to help transitioning service members and veterans become entrepreneurs. The pilot program was launched by the Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF), SBA and U.S Marine Corps on four USMC bases and goes nationwide in 2013.

BizEd magazine’s July/August 2012 issue mentions the $850,000 grant awarded by the GMAC MET Fund (fourth item) to the IVMF and the Whitman School of Management to create a program to transition military veterans back into the work force.

Innovation Trail and WRVO Public Radio reported on the 2012 Barnes Family Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans with Disabilities program (EBV) taking place this week at Syracuse University. The program is operated by the IVMF and was founded at the Whitman School of Management. Program participants Tom Voss (U.S. Army) and David Kendrick (Army) and Raymond Toenniessen, IVMF Director of New Initiatives & External Relations, are quoted.

William Ward, professor of practice in the Newhouse School, is quoted in Information Week on what’s next for Facebook. Ward is also quoted in the Boston Globe on social media use by Olympians, and today he will take part in a Canada.comweb chat on the Olympics in the age of social media.
