Raymond von Dran IDEA Student Sandbox named No. 3 college business incubator

The entrepreneurial ecosystem at Syracuse University has exploded over the past five years. Faculty from every school and college at SU have been engaged in research, teaching, commercialization and community engagement in entrepreneurship. Student entrepreneurs have secured millions of dollars in outside investments, won seed funding at SU and at state business plan competitions, and been named in media outlets such as Inc Magazine and Entrepreneur Magazine.

ideaAnd now the Raymond von Dran (RvD) IDEA Student Sandbox has been ranked as the No. 3 college business incubator by BestCollegesOnline.com.

“The RvD IDEA is likely the most exceptional and realistic startup sponsorship program I’ve ever come across. It pairs seed funding with mentorship, curriculum and an immediate network of other seasoned crazies (entrepreneurs) to lean on,” says Andrew Farah G’11.

The RvD Innovation and Disruptive Entrepreneurship Accelerator (IDEA) was created in 2009 to help Central New York college and university students start ventures. IDEA is a partnership between SU and The Tech Garden in downtown Syracuse. The RvD IDEA includes courses, the IDEA Student Sandbox, the RvD IDEA Awards (seed funding competition) and access to an entrepreneur in residence.
