Media reporting on the launch of Operation Boots to Business: From Service to Startup, a program to help transitioning service members and veterans become entrepreneurs, includes McClatchy Newspapers, Washington Post, Washington Times (fifth item), Oregonian, Long Island Business News, Stars and Stripes, Buffalo News and YNN (watch clip). The pilot program was launched by the Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF), U.S. Small Business Administration, and U.S Marine Corps on four USMC bases and goes nationwide in 2013.

The Caswell Messenger (Yanceyville, N.C.) mentions data released by the IVMF on the benefits of hiring a veteran in a piece written by Maj. Gen. Gregory A. Lusk, Adjutant General of North Carolina, asking N.C. employers with openings to think strongly about hiring veterans. Additionally, The Liberty Tribune (Liberty, Mo.) features an article on a local resident, entrepreneur and U.S. Army veteran who attended the national Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans with Disabilities (EBV) program at Florida State University. The EBV, operated by IVMF, was founded at the Whitman School of Management in 2007.
