Greater Syracuse Honors Middle School Concert Band to perform June 24
The Greater Syracuse Honors Middle School Concert Band will present a concert on Sunday, June 24 at 1 p.m. in Syracuse University’s Rose and Jules R. Setnor Auditorium, Crouse College. The concert is free and open to the public. Free parking is available in the Irving Garage; parking for patrons with disabilities is available in the Q1 lot. Patrons should mention that they are attending the concert.
The band will perform Huckeby’s “Abington Ridge Overture,” Curnow’s “Korean Folk Rhapsody,” Susato’s “The Battle Pavane,” Smith’s “Ash Lawn Echoes” and Saucedo’s “Sneak Attack!.” Conductors are Bradley Ethington, Justin Mertz and Brent Paris.
The band is open to sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade band students by nomination of their band director. Directed by Ethington and sponsored by the Rose, Jules R. and Stanford S. Setnor School of Music in SU’s College of Visual and Performing Arts, the band rehearses and performs at the University from June 9-24.
