SU NEWS AND EVENTS COVERAGE

The Associated Press, Watertown Daily Times, 9WSYR, YNN, CNY Central, WRVO and WSYR-AM previewed today’s visit by U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton to the Maxwell School and Syracuse University campus. Clinton will meet with students and then engage in a policy conversation titled “America and the World” with Maxwell School Dean James Steinberg.

An editorial in the Albany Times-Union mentions SU’s efforts to create interfaith synergy through the Better Together campaign.

A Post-Standard “Stars” feature highlighted acclaimed artist William Wegman and his current Urban Video Project display at the Everson Museum of Art.

The Post-Standard profiled Corey Gibson, a junior in the Whitman School of Management and student-entrepreneur.

Director of Athletics Daryl Gross authored a Sunday Post-Standard op-ed on the strategies to expand SU’s Orange brand to a wider, national audience.

Mollie Knopf, a sculpture major in the College of Visual and Performing Arts, is featured in the Post-Standard for her yarn bomb art.

The Post-Standard featured the ‘Cuse Spot program, which brought together children from the Syracuse City School District and student volunteers from SU at the Wilson Park Community Center for the second annual barbeque event.

The Post-Standard reported that the South Side Innovation Center plans to host its first SSIC Diversity Expo: A Billion Dollars’ Worth of Opportunity.

The Post-Standard previewed this year’s line-up at the Syracuse International Film Festival.

The CNY Business Journal reported on the GMAC MET Fund i2i Challenge grant awarded to the Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF) and the Whitman School, which will use the funds to develop the Veteran Employment Through Modified Graduate Management Tracks, in collaboration with additional SU schools, colleges and programs. James Schmeling, IVMF managing director, is quoted.

The Auburn Citizen reported on the “Conference on Engaging Community Support for Veterans” to help veterans in Central New York. It happened Friday at the Oncenter and was hosted by IVMF.
