Relay for Life: Team Tor

Thursday, April 5, 2012, By News Staff

Recently, a fellow Syracuse University student and friend to many, Victoria ‘Tori’ Li, was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of cancer. Victoria is a senior nutrition science and dietetics major in the David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics. She also works as one of the Nutrition Volunteer Coordinators through the Mary Ann Shaw Center for Public and Community Service at SU.

Victoria’s involvement on the Syracuse campus, as well as in the greater Syracuse community, is characterized by her positive attitude, her deep level of caring, as well as her genuine and unwavering spirit in others, her community and herself. Anyone who knows Tori knows that she truly deserves all of the support in the world, and not only from her friends and family, but from the Syracuse community as well. Victoria is one of our own; she is a perfect example of someone who utilizes the resources available in Syracuse to work towards her mission to better the world. For those who know her well, it is a no-brainer to give support to her, yet continues to remain a challenge as she receives treatment closer to her home and family.

We have developed a Relay for Life team for the SU Relay event on April 14 in the Carrier Dome, Team Tor: Victoria’s Little Army, in honor of our dear friend, colleague, and student, Victoria Li, with support from friends, the Shaw Center and the Department of Public Health, Food Studies and Nutrition and others in the David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics. Please consider joining the team or donating to the American Cancer Society on behalf of Victoria. Any consideration would be greatly appreciated and certainly well-directed, as we all continue to support her through her treatment and recovery!

WHAT: Relay for Life Team and support organization for a friend and community member recently diagnosed with cancer.

WHEN: Ongoing; SU Relay for Life – April 14, 6 p.m.

WHERE: Carrier Dome
