SU ballroom/swing dance social to be held April 7

The SU Ballroom Dance Organization and the SU Swing Club are jointly presenting their first ever on-campus social dance this Saturday, April 7. It will be from 7-10 p.m. at the Skybarn on South Campus, and this is a free event.

The dance is open to both SU/ESF students and anyone from the surrounding Syracuse community who may wish to attend. Feel free to invite as many people as you desire. Absolutely no experience is necessary to attend. We will have leaders and followers who know all of the dances, as well as people who may have never really danced before but wish to come anyway.

The dances at this event will cover the broad spectrums of ballroom and swing dancing, as well as other social dances that the members of our clubs enjoy doing. The full list of dances include: waltz, tango, foxtrot, quickstep, Viennese waltz, cha-cha, rumba, samba, mambo, jive, East Coast swing, West Coast swing, paso doble, bolero, hustle, salsa, merengue, bachata, blues and polka. As an extra bonus, members of the SU Ballroom Dance Organization will perform a special choreographed cha-cha/jive routine for the guests.

The one thing we ask of our guests is to dress up nicely. Part of the fun of the experience is in the costuming and many of us will be dressed up.

Should there be any questions, comments or concerns, please feel free to email the vice president of both clubs, Holly Stone, at hhstone@syr.edu.
