Cause Consulting’s Risa Sherman G’96 will speak at Newhouse March 29
Risa Sherman G’96, senior consultant with Cause Consulting, will visit the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications on Thursday, March 29 as a guest of the public relations department. She will speak at 7:30 p.m. in the Halmi Screening Room, 141 Newhouse 3. Follow on Twitter at #RisaSherman.
For almost two decades, Sherman has helped companies, brands and nonprofits advance their missions and differentiate themselves in the marketplace through breakthrough cause campaigns and stakeholder engagement programs.
Her areas of expertise include strategic philanthropy, cause marketing, public/private partnership formation, fundraising, employee volunteerism and corporate social responsibility.
She created the Samuel Adams “Brewing the American Dream” brand and AMD “Changing the Game” campaign, among others.
Earlier in her career, Sherman was a principal and strategist at PowerPact, where she helped consumer packaged goods manufacturers develop cause-related marketing programs, including Yoplait, Betty Crocker, Procter & Gamble, the Food Network, Target and Sanofi-Aventis.
She was a former member of the Cause Branding practice at Cone and a speechwriter and communications liaison for the Massachusetts Commissioner of Public Health.
She is a graduate of Boston University’s College of Communications and holds a master’s degree in public relations from the Newhouse School.
