The Role of Diversity and Design in Retooling the Defense and National Security Complex
Speaker Scott Ellison is the founder of Neptune Strategy, a Washington, D.C.-based professional services firm specializing in long-term value creation within the defense and national security markets. He was previously senior vice president of the Washington PolicY Group at investment bank Friedman, Billings, Ramsey & Co.; and, before that, president at the O’Gara Group, responsible for government relations and business development. Ellison served nearly 15 years in the U.S. Navy in both the Surface and Naval Special Warfare communities. His last active duty assignment was as legislative affairs officer for the U.S.Special Operations Command, where he facilitated more than 600 congressional visits and briefings and was vital in securing more than $1billion in supplemental funding. Earlier assignments included operations officer at SEAL Team ONE; platoon commander at SEAL Team FIVE; and surface warfare officer on the USS Fife and USS Constellation.
