The Chronicle of Higher Education published an opinion piece by David Yaffe, assistant professor of English in The College of Arts & Sciences, on his teaching of 20th-century American poetry and its frequent dark elements.
Several Syracuse University-based veteran and military family resources and training programs are cited in the February issue Entrepreneur magazine article, “Soldiers of Fortune,” on how veterans are leveraging the benefits of their military training and specialized resources and increasingly turning to entrepreneurship. Mike Haynie, executive director of the Institute for Veterans and Military Families, is quoted, in addition to John Raftery, a former Marine and graduate of SU’s Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans with Disabilities (EBV). The article also references SU’s EBV-Families program and Veterans Resource Center.
Associated Press and Financial articles, along with WGBZ Radio, mention EBV benefiting from the Pepsi Dream Machine at the downtown Chicago James R. Thompson Center.
The Post-Standard previewed tonight’s debate, presented by the Campbell Public Affairs Institute at the Maxwell School, on raising taxes on the nation’s richest people. The debate is open to the public and will be at the Everson Museum in downtown Syracuse.
