Campus events to be held today in support of United Way

The Newhouse School and Bird Library will hold events today, Dec. 2, to raise money for the United Way of Central New York.

Newhouse will hold its annual “Newhouse to Your House for the Holidays” craft fair from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. in the Food.com area of the complex. The fair will feature over 15 local craft vendors, selling homemade and one-of-a-kind items. The fair is open to the public, and parking is available at Booth and University Avenue garages, where shoppers will be able to park free for an hour and a half.

Bird Library will also host a United Way fundraiser, from 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. in the Peter Graham Scholarly Commons. The events include a silent art auction, theme basket and jar auctions, and white elephant chance drawings.

Both events support the Syracuse University campaign for the United Way, which is in its final month and has raised almost $200,000 to date. Employees are encouraged to continue to return their paper pledge cards or pledge online through the United Way of Central New York’s ePledge site. If you have any questions about the campaign, contact campus campaign coordinator Jenn Horvath at the Department of Public Safety at 443-8328 or jmhorv01@syr.edu.
