Nominations sought for Syracuse University Martin Luther King Jr. Unsung Heroes Awards

The Syracuse University Martin Luther King Jr. 2012 Celebration Committee is seeking nominations for the Unsung Heroes Awards, which will be presented during the 2012 Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration in the Carrier Dome on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012. The awards are presented annually to people who, in the spirit of King’s “beloved community” have made a positive difference in the lives of others, but who are not widely recognized for their efforts.

Nominations may be made in any of the following categories:

  • Youth/Teen from Onondaga County or the immediate surrounding counties;
  • Adult from Onondaga County or the immediate surrounding counties; 
  • Student at SU or SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (SUNY-ESF); 
  • Faculty or staff from SU or SUNY-ESF

Information and nomination forms are available at http://hendricks.syr.edu. The deadline for submitting nominations is Monday, Dec. 5.
