SU’s Morton Schiff Jazz Ensemble to present free concert Dec. 4
Syracuse University’s Morton Schiff Jazz Ensemble will present a concert on Sunday, Dec. 4, at 5 p.m. in the Rose and Jules R. Setnor Auditorium, Crouse College. The concert is free and open to the public. Free parking is available in the Irving Garage; patrons should mention that they are attending the concert.
The ensemble will perform under the direction of Joseph Riposo, faculty member in the Rose, Jules R. and Stanford S. Setnor School of Music in SU’s College of Visual and Performing Arts. The program will include “Cute” by Neal Hefti, “Groove Blues” by Don Menza, “Manteca” and “Con Alma” by Dizzy Gillespie, “Down Basie Street” by David Wolpe and other jazz standards. The concert will feature many of the ensemble’s jazz soloists.
