A Fox News (watch clip) Good Day New York interview with Frank Bisignano, chief administrative officer of JPMorgan Chase & Co. discusses the company’s pledge to hire returning veterans and mentions Syracuse University as founding partner with JPMC in the Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF). Bisignano is a board co-chair for IVMF.

The School of Architecture is mentioned in a Dexigner report on the Center for Architecture’s seventh annual architecture schools exhibition in New York City.

A keynote presentation by Syracuse iSchool Professor David Lankes is mentioned in a Forbes blog post about public libraries and the new concept of “maker spaces.”

The R-House on the Near West Side was featured in the Post-Standard Green Central New York magazine. It is one of the three green house designs winning the School of Architecture “From the Ground Up: Innovative Green Homes” design competition.

Bill DiCosimo, assistant professor and chair of the music and entertainment industries department in the College of Visual and Performing Arts’ Setnor School of Music, was featured in a Post-Standard Neighbors article on the music business course he volunteer-teaches at Big Picture School in Lafayette.

Oswego County Today reports Peter Wilcoxen, associate professor of economics and public administration at the Maxwell School, will participate in the upcoming WRVO News and Innovation Trail forum on energy resources.

A Post-Standard Green Central New York update noted Ernie Davis Hall and SyracuseCoE LEED certifications. Ed Bogucz, executive director of SyracuseCoE and associate professor in the L.C. Smith College of Engineering and Computer Science, is quoted.

FACULTY QUOTES

William Ward, professor of practice in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, is quoted in an Associated Press article about NASA using Twitter to build interest, audience and credibility.

Robert Thompson director of the Bleier Center for Television and Popular Culture in the Newhouse School, is quoted in an Atlanta Journal-Constitution article on “The Elf on the Shelf” storybook moving to television.

“The Forum” show on web-radio station WERW featured Carrie E. Garrow, executive director of the Center for Indigenous Law, Governance, & Citizenship in the College of Law, and Regina Jones, assistant director in the Office of Multicultural Affairs, discussing the eighth annual Haudenosaunee Conference.

Ed Russell, associate professor of advertising in the Newhouse School, is quoted in a 9WSYR story on early Black Friday hours for shoppers.
