The Syracuse University Wind Ensemble and Symphony Band will present a joint concert Sunday, Oct. 16, at 4 p.m. in the Rose and Jules R. Setnor Auditorium, Crouse College. The concert is free and open to the public. Free parking is available in the Irving Garage; patrons should mention that they are attending the concert.
The Wind Ensemble performs under the direction of John M. Laverty, director of bands at SU and a faculty member in the Rose, Jules R. and Stanford S. Setnor School of Music in SU’s College of Visual and Performing Arts. The program will include works by Fucik, Orff and Walton. Elisa M. Dekaney, Setnor School faculty member, will appear as guest conductor.
The Symphony Band performs under the direction of Bradley Ethington, Setnor School faculty member and associate director of bands. The program will include works by Khachaturian, Rothman and Sousa.
