Robert Thompson, director of the Bleier Center for Television and Popular Culture in the Newhouse School, is quoted in the BBC on the passing AC Nielsen Jr. Nielson was the head of the ACNielsen company, which analyzed the way Americans watched TV for more than 50 years. Eric Schiff, professor of physics in The College of Arts and Sciences, is quoted in Dick Case’s Post-Standard column on the German statues in Schiller Park that were installed on Oct. 15, 1911. They honor Johann Wolfgang von Goethe and Johann Christoph Friedrich von Schiller.
