New Dances Exhibition on SU Archives’ Web Site
The Syracuse University Archives announces the release of a new online exhibition, “From the Waltz to the Jitterbug: Dances at Syracuse University, 1900-1960.” Dances were a significant part of student life at Syracuse University in the first half of the 20th century. They affirmed campus and social traditions and unified classes, sororities, fraternities and the SU student body as a whole. Photographs, dance cards, programs, tickets, and other ephemera provide a glimpse into the balls, proms and formal
and informal dances attended by SU students between 1900 and 1960. This online exhibition will be available for viewing at http://archives.syr.edu/exhibits/dances.html starting Oct. 10.
