In preparation for the 2011-12 flu season, SU Health Services will provide free seasonal flu vaccine to Syracuse University and SUNY-ESF students at its first flu vaccine clinic on Thursday, Sept. 29, from noon to 4 p.m. at Flanagan Gymnasium. A second flu vaccine clinic will be held at Flanagan Gymnasium on Thursday, Oct. 6, from noon to 4 p.m. No appointment is necessary for the clinics, but all students must present a valid SU or SUNY-ESF ID.

Additional clinics will be scheduled based on demand and will be posted on the Health Services website and Facebook page. Flu immunizations will continue to be available throughout the semester.

The 2011-12 vaccine contains the H1N1 strain, which is a Type A influenza virus. CDC information about seasonal flu is at http://www.cdc.gov/flu/keyfacts.htm.

For more information, contact Health Services at 443-9005.
