Former Saatchi & Saatchi ad executive Bob Isherwood to visit Newhouse Oct. 3
Bob Isherwood, former worldwide creative director with the advertising agency Saatchi & Saatchi, will visit Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications on Monday, Oct. 3, as a guest of the advertising department’s Eric Mower Advertising Forum. He will speak on “Creativity: Where the Big Ideas Come From” at 6:30 p.m. in the Joyce Hergenhan Auditorium in Newhouse 3. His talk is free and open to the public. Australian-born Isherwood spent 12 years with Saatchi & Saatchi, where he worked with such major corporations as Procter & Gamble and Toyota. He is currently “chief creative dude” with Dialog Health, a company he co-founded in Nashville, which focuses on delivering innovative healthcare communication products. He is also an adjunct professor at Vanderbilt University.
He was inducted into the Clio Hall of Fame and received the Clio Lifetime Achievement Award “in recognition of outstanding and ongoing contributions by an individual who is leading the industry forward.” He also received the first-ever honorary doctorate in communications from RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia.
He served as creative chairman for the International Advertising Association/United Nations Climate Change Initiative, which resulted in the “Hopenhagen” movement and the re-branding of the city of Copenhagen.
