New York State Governor Andrew M. Cuomo Tuesday launched his Central New York Regional Economic Development Council, aimed at redesigning the relationship between the state government and businesses to stimulate regional economic development and create jobs statewide.
As part of the program at the Oncenter in downtown Syracuse, Cuomo announced that Syracuse University Chancellor and President Nancy Cantor, and Rob M. Simpson, president of CenterState CEO, will serve as regional co-chairs of the Central New York Regional Economic Development Council. The regional council will coordinate the economic development of Cayuga, Cortland, Madison, Onondaga and Oswego counties.
