The Associated Press and Post-Standard reported that alumnus Ted Koppel, original anchor of the ABC News program “Nightline,” has agreed to make a donation of videotapes and other items he has prepared or received during his career in broadcast journalism to the Syracuse University Library.

The Central New York Business Journal, Financial.com, and the Post-Standard reported on the announcement that Syracuse University and JPMorgan Chase & Co. are creating the Institute for Veterans and Military Families. The institute will serve as a national center in higher education focused on the social, economic, education and policy issues impacting veterans and their families post-service.

WWDMedia, Columbia Journalism Review, Gawker, PBS MediaShift and Poynter.org reported on the fifth annual Mirror Awards, presented by the Newhouse School. OnMilwaukee.com reported on Mary Van de Kamp Nohl winning a Mirror Award from the Newhouse School for her in-depth piece “Paper Money.”

Law.com and the Huffington Post featured the recent report by SU’s Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC) on pending immigration court cases continuing to be backlogged.

Michael Schwartz, associate professor of law and director of the Disability Rights Clinic at the College of Law, is featured in the American Bar Association’s “Your ABA” publication in an article on the challenges individuals with disabilities face when pursuing law school and the legal profession.

A Post-Standard article mentions the new summer course “Studio Recording/The Inclusive Recording Studio: Summer @SUbCat,” which will give SU students the opportunity to teach Syracuse high school students with disabilities about the art of music production and recording engineering in a professional recording studio. The feature article highlights the new partnerships in the arts on Syracuse’s Near Westside and downtown area. The project is also highlighted in the Syracuse Eagle.

The Post-Standard and YNN reported that SU Chancellor Nancy Cantor was honored with the 2011 FOCUS Wisdom Keeper Award, presented by FOCUS Greater Syracuse.

WSYR’s “Bridge Street” previewed the ninth annual Duck Race to End Racism, an event to be held at Syracuse Inner Harbor to benefit the Community Wide Dialogue to End Racism. The event will be held on Saturday, and is co-sponsored by Syracuse University and National Grid.
