We are conducting a research study at Syracuse and SUNY Upstate Medical Universities to determine differences in how people with voice problems use their voice as compared with people who are not having voice problems. We are currently looking for people who
are not have voice problems (no hoarseness or trouble producing voice), and need women in the age range of 48-58 and men in the age range of 35-45. The study involves 2-3 visits, for a total of ~3 hours. We will use special instruments to visualize the voice box, and record movement of the voice box structures during speech and other activities. Monetary compensation will be provided to those participants who qualify and participate in the study. For those people who are experiencing voice problems, several voice treatment sessions will be offered after the study is completed.
