NYU & NYPD Islamic Chaplain to speak about Muslims in America
On Thursday, April 21, at 7 p.m. in Maxwell Auditorium, Khalid Latif, executive director of the Islamic Center at New York University (NYU) and chaplain for the New York City Police Department (NYPD), will address the struggles Muslims in America face today and how Muslims can overcome them with support from the greater community. Imam Latif will speak to how Muslims can maintain their identity when they are in a minority setting without compromising their beliefs, and how Muslims can reach out to others, and vice
versa, to change the narrative about Muslims in America.
