Vey Duke exhibits at Institute of Contemporary Art in Philadelphia

Emily Vey Duke, assistant professor of transmedia core and art video in VPA’s School of Art and Design’s Department of Transmedia, has The Illuminations Project, a collaborative exhibition with Shary Boyle, on display through March 20 at the Institute of Contemporary Art in Philadelphia. Looking for an alternative to the convention in which images illustrate texts and texts explicate images, the two artists developed a looser, more associative method of combining words and pictures. The Illuminations Project is a series of 33 drawings and text pairs generated through long-distance correspondence between 2003 and 2010.
