Ford’s U.S. marketing communications director to visit Newhouse School Feb. 9
Matt VanDyke, director of U.S. marketing communications for Ford and Lincoln Mercury, will visit Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications on Wednesday, Feb. 9, as a guest of the Eric Mower Advertising Forum. He will give a public address at 5:30 p.m. in the Joyce Hergenhan Auditorium in Newhouse 3. His talk is free and open to the public. Parking is available in SU pay lots.
VanDyke is responsible for all advertising and consumer communications initiatives for Ford and Lincoln Mercury, including digital, experiential and direct marketing. Ford was selected as Ad Age’s Marketer of the Year in 2010. VanDyke has been with Ford since 2008, leading marketing efforts in traditional and non-traditional arenas, including television, print and radio, as well as the erupting digital space.
His recent campaigns include the award-winning Fiesta Movement, which put 100 social media savvy “agents” in pre-launch Ford Fiestas, so they could share their drive experiences online, as well as the unconventional Facebook introduction of the all-new 2011 Ford Explorer.
VanDyke holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Miami University. Previously, he was with Team One and managed advertising for Toyota USA’s Lexus Division.
