Area media coverage of the 26th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration and presentation of Unsung Hero Awards at Syracuse University included reports by YNN News and the Post-Standard.

Eric Kingson, professor in the School of Social Work in the College of Human Ecology, is quoted in an AARP Bulletin story on new careers for baby boomers as they redefine retirement.

Robert Thompson, director of the Bleier Center for Television and Popular Culture in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, is quoted on the passing of Jack LaLanne in a New York Times report and WWJ (Detroit) radio segment (listen to audio clip). Thompson also spoke on CBS News and Washington’s WTOP-AM (listen to clip) about Keith Olbermann leaving MSNBC and the ending of the “Countdown with Keith Olbermann” show.
