SU NEWS AND EVENTS COVERAGE

A USA Today blog written by SU student Adam Britten, a marketing management major at the Whitman School of Management, highlights the value of volunteering and community engagement abroad.

SU’s Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC) is featured in the Salt Lake Tribune on the rate of deportations dropping, and in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette on mortgage fraud prosecutions in Pennsylvania.

The Oneida Daily Dispatch mentions Carrie Mae Weems, lecturer in the College of Visual and Performing Arts, in an article on the Society for New Music receiving a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.

Several Syracuse University-affiliated theater productions are included in the Post-Standard “Stars” magazine list of favorite local theater pieces from 2010. Included are:

  • SU Opera Theater’s “Die Fledermaus;”
  • Syracuse Stage’s “Lookingglass Alice” and “The Price;”
  • the Paul Robeson Performing Arts Company’s “Having Our Say;” and
  • the College of Visual and Performing Arts’ Drama Department production of “Cabaret.”

FACULTY QUOTES

Hub Brown, associate professor of broadcast and digital journalism at the Newhouse School, is quoted in a Media Matters post on anchorman John Roberts’ decision to move from CNN to Fox News.

David M. Crane L’80, professor of practice in the College of Law, is quoted in an All Africa story about allegations against Jean-Pierre Bemba at the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Len Burman, Daniel Patrick Moynihan Professor of Public Affairs in the Maxwell School, is quoted in CNN Money about the possibility of raising the federal debt-ceiling limit.
