SU NEWS AND EVENTS COVERAGE

The New York Law Journal reported on a grant to the Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans with Disabilities (EBV) program from the New York Bar Foundation to bolster the technology sector and entrepreneurship among disabled military veterans.

iSchool professors Dave Lankes, Anthony Rotolo, and Scott Nicholson are featured in a School Library Journal article about new efforts in social media, especially as they relate to librarianship.

Politico.com reported on the Newhouse School’s call for entries for the Toner Prize for Excellence in Political Reporting.

TribLocal (of Oak Park and River Forest, Ill.) reported on Dominican University’s Crown Library as one of five libraries nationwide selected to participate in the Rubric Assessment of Information Literacy Skills (RAILS) project, which is based at the iSchool and led by Assistant Professor Megan Oakleaf.

The Central New York Business Journal, the Rochester Business Journal, and WXXI (PBS Rochester)  reported on SU’s collaboration with New York state and the University of Rochester to launch a new $2 million fund aimed at providing seed-stage financing for high-tech startup companies.

CNY Central (watch clip) featured a local restaurant owner who has benefited from programs that help entrepreneurs with disabilities launch their own businesses. Gary Shaheen, Burton Blatt Institute senior vice president, was interviewed.

WAER-AM reported on the completion of renovations at the Lincoln Supply Warehouse building on the Near Westside, and the official announcement of the building’s commercial and residential tenants.
