A blog posting on CircleID by the Internet Society’s New York chapter (ISOC-NY) made note of an upcoming presentation by iSchool Professor Milton Mueller, on his new book, “Networks and States: The Global Politics of Internet Governance” at New York University.

The Daily Telegraph (London) and AOL Music News reported on the life, work and death of celebrated soprano Helen Boatwright, a former faculty member in the College of Visual and Performing Arts.

William Banks, Board of Advisors Distinguished Professor and director of the Institute for National Security and Counterterrorism in the College of Law and the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, appeared on a Radio New Zealand program discussing the UK arrest of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange. Robert Thompson, director of the Bleier Center for Television and Popular Culture in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, is quoted in a USA Today article on the passing of Elizabeth Edwards and in a Gold Coast Bulletin (Australia) story on the continuing fame of the Beatles, John Lennon, and Yoko Ono, 30 years after Lennon’s death.

Len Burman, Daniel Patrick Moynihan Professor of Public Affairs in the Maxwell School, authored a commentary in CNN Money and is quoted in an NPR report on reaction to the proposed tax cuts compromise put forward by President Obama.

David Cay Johnston, distinguished visiting lecturer in the College of Law and Whitman School of Management, was interviewed for Tuesday’s Kathleen Dunn Show on Wisconsin Public Radio about the status of Bush-era tax cuts. A podcast of the 9 a.m. segment is available here. Johnston also appeared on a POTUS Politics of the United States segment on Sirius/XM Radio, discussing the Obama-GOP tax cut deal.
