The Post-Standard reported on a five-year, $3.4 million grant from the National Science Foundation to Syracuse University to study ways to recruit, retain and advance women university faculty members in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields. SU Chancellor and President Nancy Cantor; Shobha Bhatia, Laura J. and L. Douglas Meredith Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering in the L.C. Smith College of Engineering and Computer Science; and Karin Ruhlandt-Senge, Distinguished Professor and chair of the Department of Chemistry in The College of Arts and Sciences are quoted. Mitchell Franklin, assistant professor of accounting in the Whitman School, is quoted in a CNBC story on minority financial investing.

Len Burman, Daniel Patrick Moynihan Professor of Public Affairs in the Maxwell School, is quoted in a Fox Business article about the “Making Work Pay” middle class tax credit and other proposed tax strategies for stimulus.
