An AutoWeek column on electric cars briefly mentions SU’s participation in the Zipcar program.

The Huffington Post reported on the federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency withholding immigration information to SU’s Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC).

The Post-Standard reported that Say Yes to Education will have a role in the selection of the new superintendent for the Syracuse City School District.

The Post-Standard reported on the upcoming Syracuse University Farmers’ Markets, to be held Oct. 8 and 22.

Syracuse.com and CNY Central News (watch clip) featured a recap of the visit by representatives of Price Chopper to an iSchool class to discuss the role of social media in business.

The Syracuse New Times reported on the Department of Drama’s production of “Cabaret.”

The Central New York Business Journal reported on the U.S. Small Business Administration awarding Syracuse University a grant of nearly $84,000 under the agency’s Program for Investment in Microentrepreneurs (PRIME).

FACULTY QUOTES

Harriet Brown, assistant professor of magazine journalism in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, is mentioned in a Newsweek article for her book “Brave Girl Eating” and her knowledge of family-based treatment programs for anorexia.

The New York Times quoted Robert Thompson, director of the Bleier Center for Television and Popular Culture in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, on spaghetti tacos. A Syracuse.com blog reported on the number of New York Times’ reporters that have quoted Thompson over the years. Additionally, USA Today quoted Thompson on the popularity of the Lady Gaga costume for this Halloween, the Christian Science Monitor quoted Thompson on the new CNN program hosted by Eliot Spitzer and Kathleen Parker, and Newsweek quoted him on celebrities using Twitter.

Paula Johnson, professor of law in the Syracuse University College of Law and co-director of the Cold Case Justice Initiative, published an op-ed in the Post-Standard on the legacy of Thurgood Marshall.
