Data from SU’s Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC) is featured in a USA Today article on the Obama administration changing the federal immigration enforcement strategy.

A recent study by Pat Penfield of the Whitman School of Management and Rene Germain of the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry, was featured in ScienceCentric. The study reveals that the low LEED point for use of FSC wood, coupled with both a shortage of FSC-certified sawmills and a shortage of FSC wood in New York state, may cause a bottleneck for green construction.

College Surfing Insider recently featured a list of iPhone app development courses and included IST 400 Mobile Application Development taught at the iSchool by Assistant Professor Carlos Caicedo.

Bill Coplin, professor of public policy at the Maxwell School and College of Arts and Sciences, and his 1999 book on “doing good” are featured in a Brooklyn Eagle article.

The Post-Standard previewed this weekend’s unveiling of the Near Westside Initiative (NWSI), Connective Corridor, and COLAB project “A Love Letter to Syracuse.”

An “On Faith” commentary by Gustav Niebuhr, associate professor of religion and media in The College of Arts and Sciences and Newhouse School, appeared in the Washington Post. In the piece, Niebuhr discusses the issues surrounding the proposed burning of the Quran in Florida.

Jason Dedrick, associate professor at the School of Information Studies, is quoted in a Bloomberg news story on the Foxconn Technology Group.

Robert Thompson, director of the Bleier Center for Television and Popular Culture in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, spoke with WCBS-AM in New York City about the media coverage of the Florida pastor’s intent to burn the Quran.

Len Burman, Daniel Patrick Moynihan Professor of Public Affairs in the Maxwell School, was interviewed on NPR about a new bipartisan attempt to simplify the tax code.

David Cay Johnston, distinguished visiting lecturer in the College of Law and Whitman School of Management, was interviewed on DemocracyNow about the Bush and Boehner tax proposals.

The Wall Street Journal (subscription required) published an opinion letter co-authored by Eric Kingson, professor of social work in the College of Human Ecology’s School of Social Work, on Americans needing a strong and consistent Social Security system.

Ellen deLara, associate professor in the School of Social Work in the College of Human Ecology, spoke with CNY Central on the new Dignity for All Students Act anti-bullying law signed by Governor David Paterson this week.
