Volunteer for the Off-Campus Student Welcoming Team

The Office of Off-Campus and Commuter Services (OCCS) seeks volunteers for the annual Off-Campus Student Welcoming Team.

Each year nearly 100 faculty, staff, student, and neighborhood volunteers come together and travel door-to-door to welcome off-campus students to the university neighborhood. Students will be welcomed to the community, reminded of their rights and responsibilities as tenants and community members, and invited to the annual Taste Of Westcott Street (held on September 2).

This year’s Welcoming Team will be on Sunday, August 29, 10:00 am to 12:30 p.m. Volunteers will meet at the Westcott Community Center (826 Euclid Ave.) to receive their materials and official Welcoming Team tee shirt, and return for a lunch catered by Dinosaur BBQ.

To volunteer online, go to http://welcomingteam.syr.edu. If you have any questions, please call the Office of Off-Campus and Commuter Services at 315-443-5489 or email offcampus@syr.edu.
