The Power to Advance is an annual half-day conference with sessions and resources designed specifically to help SU employees with their careers at the University.

Keynote Speaker: Positive Power of Humor by Yvonne Conte
New this year, the conference will feature lunch and a keynote address by Yvonne Conte from Humor Advantage Inc. Yvonne Conte is a highly respected, gifted storyteller with a comic edge and a powerful message about life.  Join us for an uplifting presentation that will motivate and inspire you to take positive action in your personal and professional life.

Conference sessions will include:

  • Resumes and Cover Letters: Beyond the Basics
  • The Future of Training: Tap into the Power of Online Learning
  • Leveraging Your Strengths
  • Using Social Media to Advance Your Career

Participants can also choose to schedule a 20-minute personalized review and feedback session focused on your resume, cover letter and questions about interviewing (RCI “Triage”). Appointments will run every 20 minutes concurrently with the session times.

Advance registration for the conference is available on the Human Resources website. Conference tickets are $10 per person and include any/all sessions, keynote speaker and boxed lunch.
