Art Daily reports that Syracuse University’s Mobile Literacy Arts Bus (MLAB) is showcased in the “Sites of Memory” exhibition at Stephan Stoyanov Gallery in New York City. Artist Marion Wilson, director of community initiatives in the visual arts at the School of Education, is also noted as founder of the Social Sculpture class which created the MLAB.

The Post-Standard and CNY Central reported on the Community Wide Dialogue’s eighth annual Duck Race to End Racism, co-sponsored by Syracuse University.

Me’Shae Brooks-Rolling, director of special events and public relations in the Burton Blatt Institute, authored an article in Monday’s Post-Standard Moneywise section on preparing and using a personal budget.

SU student Diamond Breland is featured in a Post-Standard story about the Miss Juneteenth Pageant.

FACULTY QUOTES

Mark Monmonier, distinguished professor of geography in the Maxwell School, is quoted in a Korea Herald article about issues surrounding the standardization and semantics of geographic names in the region.

Leonard Burman, Daniel Patrick Moynihan Professor of Public Affairs in the Maxwell School, is quoted in the National Journal (subscription required) on economic challenges facing Greece and the United States.

The “David Sirota Show” on AM 760 (Denver) featured David Cay Johnston, distinguished visiting lecturer in the College of Law and Whitman School of Management, speaking about Undertaxed Freedom Day.

Stuart S. Rosenthal, Melvin A. Eggers Economics Faculty Scholar in the Maxwell School, is quoted in a Milwaukee Journal Sentinel article on the economic benefits of an educated workforce in metropolitan areas.

Robert Thompson, director of the Bleier Center for Television and Popular Culture in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, is quoted in an Argus Leader (Sioux Falls, S.D.) story about the vampire pop culture phenomenon.

Jeffrey Stonecash, professor of political science in the Maxwell School and College of Arts and Sciences, was interviewed in a Sunday Post-Standard article about leadership changes one year ago in the New York State Senate.

Charles T. Driscoll, University Professor of Environmental Systems Engineering in the L.C. Smith College of Engineering and Computer Science, is quoted in a Post-Standard article on changes in state Health Department advisories about eating fish from Onondaga Lake.
